Modern Slavery Statement for Storage Hampton Wick
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Storage Hampton Wick to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards and to act with integrity in all our relationships.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Storage Hampton Wick adopts a zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage and child labour. Any form of exploitation is fundamentally incompatible with our values and the way we do business. We expect the same high standards from all our employees, suppliers, contractors and other business partners.
We are committed to ensuring that modern slavery has no place in our business or supply chains and will take prompt and decisive action where we identify any risk or incident of non-compliance.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Hampton Wick provides storage and related services and works with a range of suppliers, including facilities management providers, maintenance contractors, equipment manufacturers and professional service firms. We recognise that certain sectors and regions may present a higher risk of modern slavery, and we focus our efforts accordingly.
We aim to build long-term, transparent relationships with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical conduct, workplace rights and safe working conditions.
Policies and Governance
Our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery is underpinned by a set of internal policies and procedures designed to promote lawful and ethical behaviour. These include policies covering ethical sourcing, anti-bribery and corruption, recruitment and use of labour, and expected standards of conduct for employees and suppliers.
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery sits with senior management, who ensure that our policies are implemented, communicated and periodically reviewed for effectiveness.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We conduct risk-based due diligence on new and existing suppliers. As part of this process, we may request information about their labour practices, use of subcontractors, recruitment methods and compliance with relevant legislation on modern slavery and human rights.
Where appropriate, we carry out supplier audits, which may include on-site inspections, document reviews and discussions with management regarding employment conditions, working hours, wages and grievance mechanisms. If we identify actual or potential issues, we engage with the supplier to agree corrective actions within defined timeframes.
In serious cases, or where a supplier fails to remedy issues satisfactorily, we reserve the right to terminate the relationship in line with our zero-tolerance policy.
Training and Awareness
We provide training and guidance to relevant employees so they can recognise the signs of modern slavery and understand how to respond to any concerns. This includes staff involved in procurement, facilities management and recruitment, who are more likely to encounter risk indicators in the course of their work.
We also promote awareness of our values and expectations through regular internal communications and by sharing our standards with key suppliers and partners.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Hampton Wick encourages anyone who has concerns about potential modern slavery or unethical labour practices in our business or supply chains to speak up. Concerns can be raised through our internal reporting channels, including managers and designated compliance contacts, or via our whistleblowing arrangements where reports can be made in confidence.
All reports are treated seriously and investigated promptly. We do not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise genuine concerns in good faith, whether they relate to our own operations or to those of our suppliers.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process. We are committed to continually improving our systems and controls to identify, prevent and address risks in our operations and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every year to assess its effectiveness and to ensure it reflects developments in best practice and applicable legislation. As part of the annual review, we consider feedback from employees, suppliers and other stakeholders, as well as any incidents or lessons learned during the period.
This statement has been approved by the management of Storage Hampton Wick and represents our current approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
